I had a black dog, his name was depression

Here’s a wonderful, shortish vidoe by writer and illustrator Matthew Johnstone about his story of overcoming the “black dog of depression”. Even if you don’t suffer depression, someone you know might. Understanding them will help them more than you can ever know.

What did you learn that can help you or someone you know?

I’m really tired today. And that’s just the way it’s going to be. I can still make progress on my goals, slowly.

Throwing this site together makes me feel happy. Accomplished.

I’ve thought about this for months, and even mentioned it to a few people. Now it exists.

Yay for the Accomplishment of a New Site.

The Power of Naming Your Demon

Do his four words of, “I suffer from depression,” apply to you? If so, you are in the right spot.

Even if they don’t, we welcome you and encourage you in your fight against your own demons.

Upgrade: “I struggle with depression.”

Those four words carry more power. It is an active fight. I fight each day. And we can prevail.
